Family Crest 6

According to Wikipedia a coat of arms is a symbol used to identify families or individuals. It is a detailed design that often includes a shield, crest, helmet, motto, and more. The image could be used as a whole, or the crest can be used as a simplified symbol.  There is no such thing as a coat of arms for a surname. Coats of arms belong to individuals. For any person to have a right to a coat of arms they must either have had it granted to them or be descended in the legitimate line from a person to whom arms were granted.

So by authority claimed by virtue of my heritage, I hereby designate the following as the crest or coat of arms for all  blood relatives and descendants  of  John and Mary (nee Szumlinska) Bober and Frank and Bessie (nee Wichrowska) Sladowski, the union of which took place with the marriage of Stephen Francis Sladowski and Estelle Claire Bober on November 5th, 1938.

Colors:  Red to symbolize struggle, sacrifice, and passion for a purpose   White to symbolize peace, hope, and independence

White Eagle:   The crowned eagle with a golden beak and talons, referred to as godło, is the official symbol of Poland and represents pride in our heritage.

Central image:  The flourishing Tree of Life is deeply rooted in Faith (represented by a cross) and Love (represented by a heart), and nourished by both the sun (happiness) and rain (hardship).

The banner below bears the slogan:  The Path to a Promise is Paved with Perseverance, acknowledging the attributes cultivated by experience through the ages and passed down by example to future generations:  self-reliance and personal accountability.

And here is something I found in a Hallmark card which I thought was appropriate to the theme:

The Oak

A mighty wind blew night and day and stole the oak tree’s leaves away.

Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark, until the oak was tired and stark;

But still the oak tree held its ground, while other trees fell all around.

The weary wind gave up and spoke: “How can you still be standing, Oak?”

The oak tree said, “I know that you can break each branch of mine in two,

Carry every leaf away, shake my limbs, and make me sway;

But I have roots stretched in the earth growing stronger since my birth.

“You’ll never touch them for you see they are the deepest part of me.

“Until today I wasn’t sure of just how much I could endure;

But now I’ve found, with thanks to you, I’m stronger than I ever knew.”

Wishing you Peace, Strength and Lots of LovEstelle
