Author Update March 2

This past month was fraught with distractions and mea culpa, mea culpa, I succumbed to the temptations. First and foremost was gathering information for filing my income tax return.  Yes, that was a necessity, but in doing so I meandered down memory lane and got lost several times.  But, I am pleased to say that though it took longer than it should have, the job got done.

Then there were the lures of Amazon and Netflix.  It is way too easy to shop on line, and I fell for their promotions—Subscribe and get one month free!  Enjoy the benefits of Prime membership!  Did you know you can even do grocery shopping and have it delivered the next day?  And there are movies and TV shows I never knew existed to watch whenever I want.  But after wasting several hours in such idle pursuits, I realized I was not fulfilling my promise or meeting my goals and so I made a sign to remind me to stick to my righteous path.  Lead us not into Temptation and posted it atop my computer screen.

All was not lost however; there is some progress to report.  I researched several marketing programs and decided on an online coach who will promote my second book from the outset and piggy back the first book in the process.  I chose this route because it means looking forward to creating something rather than backwards to revising something that was done in the past.  I will also have a separate illustrated collection of poems to accompany the book, also titled Tears of the Heart.

And really looking ahead, I have interviewed three couples for the third book which will be titled Old Fashioned Love—the stories of couples who with faith and perseverance have faced the challenges and lived to enjoy their fiftieth wedding anniversaries.  With the six couples who spent the Happy Times Reunion week in Cape May in 2009, that makes nine stories.  I’m aiming for a dozen (or more).

So despite the setbacks, I am moving ahead and truly appreciate your interest and support.  Next week’s Lives Cut Short will be about someone you all know.   Until then,

Lots of LovEstelle

    Estelle,
Be thankful for those days of “just chillin”! I am sure you needed them. Are you considering Jo and Tony as one of your couples for the over 50 years married? Looking forward to the next update…
